Meet the team


Qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1998 and has extensive auditing, accountancy tax and management accounts experience and knowledge, including acting as a Financial Controller for clients.
Andy had 3 years post qualification experience with one of the ‘top 10’ accountancy firms before joining Cartwrights in 2001 as a Manager and was appointed as a Director in 2003. His portfolio ranges from private individuals to large owner-managed companies. Andy is an expert in auditing and financial reporting, providing proactive tax advice, planning and business advice. He is also highly experienced in helping clients improve and upgrade their IT systems and accounts software.
Andy is a keen sportsman and fitness fanatic and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Audit and Assurance, Information Technology, Charities and Corporate Finance Faculties.

Ahsan joined Cartwrights in September 2008 as senior audit manager and has been a Partner since 2010. Prior to this, Ahsan qualified with a medium-sized firm in North London and latterly a major accountancy practice in the City. Ahsan specialises in the provision of audit, business advisory and taxation services, as well as raising finance for start-ups and growing businesses.
Ahsan firmly believes in being available to clients for guidance and support when needed rather than simply appearing once a year to deal with compliance work. He is proactive and enjoys working enthusiastically with businesses from day one, ensuring their steady growth and development.

Eric joined Cartwrights in 1987, qualifying in 1993 and then became a partner in 1996. Eric has been the managing partner since 2004.
Eric has qualifications in both accountancy and taxation and has a wide portfolio of clients in which his vast experience is put to use. During his 25 years in general practice at partner/director level, he has been involved with a number of special cases, including:
- Raising finance
- Business valuations
- Consequential loss cases
- Advising on buying and selling businesses
- Tax planning
- Specialist audit assignments
- Strategic tax and business planning for SMEs

Qualified with ICAEW in December 2008 and has extensive experience in the provision of audit services, financial reporting and management accounts for a broad client base, including acting as a Financial Controller for clients.
Matt is also the licensed individual in charge of all probate work and regularly deals with the estate administration of clients as well as advising clients on how to take steps in order that their estates are taxed efficiently.
Matt joined Cartwrights in 2007 as a trainee and has been a Director since 2014.
Matt believes in going the extra mile for all of his clients and ensuring that they receive a professional and friendly service.
Away from the office he is an extremely keen sportsman, being a regular runner and a football fanatic.

Mansoor is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. He joined Cartwrights in July 2015 as Tax Manager and became a Director in April 2017. He regularly provides accountancy and tax services to individuals and businesses in the areas of property taxation, corporate transactions, succession planning in addition to tax investigation work.
15 years in practice specialising in Taxation.
He has also lectured on taxation at ACCA and other accountancy bodies, both in the UK and overseas. This involved running open seminars and presentations to local business schools and potential students, as well as counselling students regarding accounting and taxation courses.
Outside of work, he regularly plays badminton in Herts Badminton League.
